Colin Passmore... The story so far…

Born and educated in Western Australia, Colin Passmore relocated with his young family to Noosa in 1982 and emerged as an exhibiting artist at that time. In the ensuing years Passmore fostered widespread acclaim and notoriety in Australia and Internationally, having exhibited in nearly every city of Australia and was a featured artist in Tokyo in 1999. Widely collected, Colin Passmore’s works have found their way into collections in the U.S.A., Canada, England, Hong Kong, Singapore, The Middle East, New Zealand and Holland, as well as many corporate and private collections within Australia.

On completion of his first commission in 1986, producing 50 oil paintings for the  ‘SEAHAVEN’ Resort in Noosa, his popularity rose and his future as an accredited artist was cemented with multiple private and company commissions to follow. In his practice, Passmore has developed distinct themes and unique styles of painting. His best known are the Australian Outback Desert Series alongside the coastal imagery of the well known Paperbark Series; often experimenting with various mediums and imagery to satisfy his need for new and exciting working methods, however diverse the subject. His work is engrossingly expressive, richly coloured and always recognisable as a Passmore painting; executed with graphic sensibility that is ever striking and memorable. Some of Passmore’s most creative breakthrough has evolved over the past ten years through the development of his works commissioned by designers and private clients who have given him the support and the freedom to create site specific works.

Colin continues to exhibit when he chooses… featuring in galleries and private collections within Australia and around the world.
