Collection: Sarajai

Sarajai | Artist
Inspired by the rich visual language of ancient cultures, Sarajai's work is a unique fusion of global influences. From the intricate textiles of Rajasthan and delicate Ethiopian adornments to the carved traditions of the Asia-Pacific, her paintings weave together diverse cultural aesthetics with effortless harmony.
Her artistic expression is equally shaped by the angular rhythms of Jazz, the quiet beauty of Japanese Wabi Sabi, and the enduring influence of her mixed Japanese and Islander heritage. Together with her deeply held spirituality, these elements create works that are both soulful and distinctly her own—wildly elegant, layered with meaning, and rich in cultural resonance.
Born and raised in Noosa, Sarajai's creative journey began among the natural beauty of Little Cove, where her family's pioneering connection to the region dates back to the 1940s and is recognised within the Noosa Heritage archives. Growing up beside the iconic Noosa National Park instilled a lifelong connection to nature that continues to inform her work today.
Describing herself as a fusion artist, Sarajai has enjoyed a diverse creative career spanning more than three decades, including world music and jazz performance, graphic design, multicultural arts production and, ultimately, her enduring passion as a visual artist.
