Collection: Thom Kadera - Originals

Thomas Kadera is a Surf Coast–based artist whose work captures the quiet narratives and fleeting moments of Australia’s coastal lifestyle. Known for his unique viewpoints of iconic surf breaks and the stories that unfold on crowded beach days, Thom’s artworks offer an intimate and often playful perspective on life by the sea.

Drawn to creative pursuits from an early age, Thom’s path was equally shaped by a deep love of surfing. After studying Product Design Engineering, the pull of the ocean led him to Torquay, where immersion in Surf Coast culture sparked a passion for creating surf-inspired art and the development of his distinctive visual style.

Now based in Jan Juc, Victoria, Thom’s practice reflects a relaxed yet thoughtful approach to coastal living. His works balance composition, storytelling and atmosphere, celebrating the rhythm of surf culture while inviting viewers to pause and observe the subtle interactions that define beach life.

Influenced by fellow Surf Coast artists Jeff Raglus and Susan Sutton, Thom has forged his own artistic voice — one that feels both familiar and fresh. His paintings resonate with those who share a love of the coast, evoking nostalgia, movement and a strong sense of place.

We are proud to welcome Thomas Kadera to the gallery and to present his authentic, surf-infused practice to our collectors.
