It won 1st prize at a Society of Sculptors Qld exhibition in conjunction with Queensland Performing Arts  and Best Bronze Award.

Pam Walpole worked as a graphic artist in the world of Advertising for many years but changed tack and completed a Fine Art degree at the Brisbane Institute of Art, majoring in Sculpture which was her first love. She was President of the Society of Sculptors Queensland in 1994, 95 and an instigator for the annual Outdoor exhibition at the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, where sculptors were given free reign where their works were displayed among the vast gardens. She has enjoyed many mediums, from stone carving, ceramic, cement, assemblage and has held solo exhibitions spanning several decades. Inspired by the local environment and beyond, she added painting and collage to her list of creative pursuits. This piece Metamorphosis - Salome' won two Awards - the Open section and Best Bronze held at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre to celebrate their 50" Anniversary of the Queensland Performing Arts.has been Inspired by the simplicity and minimal lines of sculptors Henry Moore, Isamu Noguchi and Brancusi.Pam has undertaken large environmental works both locally and further afield in collaboration with Artforartsake
