Angus McDiarmid, founder of Pãn Pottery in 2014, creates handmade pottery using a traditional wood fire kiln, kick wheel, and locally sourced clay.
Each piece is unique, reflecting the natural interplay of clay and fire. Deeply inspired by the philosophy that life and pottery are interconnected, McDiarmid values the process and intention behind each creation as much as the final product.
His passion for traditional craft was enriched by global experiences, including a ten-month cycling journey from Patagonia to Ecuador in 2011. Along the way, he immersed himself in the Andean culture and traditional craftsmanship. In 2012, he traveled to India, where he studied pottery in a Himalayan studio, further refining his skills.
Today, McDiarmid works from his handmade studio on the shores of Lake Weyba, Noosa Heads, Queensland, blending local materials and timeless techniques to craft functional, durable, and meaningful pottery.
